Wild food forays

Over the last few weeks, S1 classes have been discovering the delights of wild food found for free in our very own Roley's Wood during their Home Economics classes.

tasting dandelion leaves (washed of course!)

not every one likes wild garlic!

a blind taste test between shop-bought leek and wild few-flowered leek from the woods

back in the classroom, we cooked up tasty treats including dandelion flower bhajis,  cheese and wild leek scones and potato salad with wild garlic

the nettle soup went down a treat!
