For over 25 years we have been developing our school grounds as a resource for teaching as well as for its amenity value. The concrete quadrangle in the centre of the school has been transformed into an outdoor classroom with diverse habitats for wildlife and is used for teaching about biodiversity and the interactions between living things. There is also a beautiful Japanese garden for quiet reflection.

Roley's Wood is a beautiful native woodland strip right next to the school. Pupils have been involved in caring for the woodland since 1989 and it was renamed in honour of Roley Walton, a previous biology teacher and long-time friend of the school.

We also have a Green Garden, an orchard area with 16 fruit trees, a greenhouse and vegetable beds.
