John Muir Award

The John Muir Award is an environmental award that encourages people of all backgrounds to connect, enjoy and care for wild places through a structured and adaptable scheme.  Taking part helps develop an understanding of, and responsibility for, a particular wild place.

At Currie Community High School we have regularly held a John Muir Award Group for pupils. The JMA Group do conservation work in the school grounds, as well as exploring its wildlife and sharing their experiences.  Taking part in the group gains pupils a Discovery Level John Muir Award. Pupils can also join the club to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh's Award or JASS..

Pupils on the XL programme at CCHS also work towards a John Muir Award.  To see what they've been up to most recently, click 'john muir award' under 'Labels' on the right hand side of this page.

For more information on the XL programme visit The Princes Trust website.
